Community Bill Contributions
You can let friends, community members, or teammates help cover a service’s renewal. Share a link, they chip in, and the money is held for that service and applied to the next renewal invoice - or to an open invoice right away if one already exists.
Contributions only go toward that specific service’s bill. They can’t be moved to a different service.
How it works
- Open an active service in your dashboard
- Enable Community bill contributions
- Copy your share link and send it to anyone
- When they pay, the money is held for that service and applied to the next renewal invoice (or an open one right away)
Enable contributions on a service
Step 1. Open your services page
Go to dash.apexnode.host/services and log in if needed.
Step 2. Select the service
Click the active service you want people to help pay for.
Step 3. Enable Community bill contributions
Turn on the contribute system for that service. Once it’s enabled, you’ll get a shareable contribution link.
Step 4. (Optional) Set a public display name
Contributors can see the public display name for the service. Change it if you don’t want your default service name shown.
Step 5. Share your link
Copy the contribution link and send it wherever you’d like - Discord, friends, teammates, community members, etc.
You can turn sharing off or regenerate the link anytime. Regenerating invalidates the old link, so only share the latest one.
What contributors can do
Anyone with your contribution link can open it and contribute.
Guests (no account needed)
Guests do not need to create an account. They can:
- Choose how much to contribute
- Pay by card through Stripe or PayPal
- Optionally leave a name
- Optionally leave a short message
Signed-in ApexNode users
If they’re signed in and have enough account credits, they can contribute from their credit balance.
What you see as the service owner
On the service page, you can see:
- Your held contribution balance
- Recent contributions
Under Invoices, open the Contributions tab to review contribution-related invoices.
When a contribution is successfully paid, you’ll get a notification. These notifications are toggleable if you’d rather not get them.
